The Story of Ti Sana

A Vision Born in 1997
Ti Sana was founded in Lugano in 1997 from an idea by entrepreneur Giuseppe Rossi, at a historical moment when speaking of conscious well-being, prevention, natural nutrition, and sustainability meant looking far ahead.

At the time, few could imagine how profoundly people’s way of life would change. Giuseppe Rossi, however, had already sensed a cultural transformation destined to grow over the years.

“Switzerland has an ancient tradition in natural cures and remedies, and its geographical position has always made it a privileged place for the exchange of culture and experiences.”

It was precisely from this vision that Ti Sana was born: to create a place in Italian Switzerland capable of bringing together people, professionals, companies, and realities united by a new idea of well-being and quality of life.

The first edition featured 40 exhibitors and 7,000 visitors.
Today, almost three decades later, Ti Sana has become the most important wellness fair in Italian Switzerland, with over 200 stands and more than 16,000 visitors at the 2026 Lugano edition.
This continuous growth tells not only the evolution of the event but also the change in people and their priorities.

The Founder

Giuseppe Rossi was among the first to imagine a future where well-being would not be considered a luxury, but a new culture of living.
A broad, concrete, and profoundly contemporary vision even today.

“Future well-being,” he used to say, “will be oriented towards greater awareness on the part of people in all areas of life: from proper nutrition to living in a healthy home and environment, without neglecting the fundamental role of prevention. Attention will be paid to the balance of body, mind, and spirit, together with a positive mental attitude and respect for oneself, for our relationship with others, and for the planet.”

Attention will be paid to the balance of body, mind, and spirit, together with a positive mental attitude and respect for oneself, for our relationship with others, and for the planet.”

Already in the late 1990s, Rossi spoke of the balance between person, environment, and quality of life with a perspective that today appears surprisingly current.
For a long time, he had been involved in complementary therapies, healthy and organic food, and together with his wife Alba, he visited the few sector fairs then present in Switzerland and abroad, even traveling to California, to Expo West, among the international reference events in the sector.
It was there that the idea of creating a fair capable of connecting diverse but interconnected worlds definitively matured.

“I had the idea of organizing a fair in Italian Switzerland dedicated to health and well-being. For a long time, I had been involved in complementary therapies, healthy and organic food, and everything related to prevention and well-being. Together with my wife Alba, we visited all the few sector fairs then existing in Switzerland and abroad, but our passion was such that we even went to Expo West, the famous Californian fair.
I was enthusiastic about the signals I was seeing around me and became convinced that society would inevitably move towards a healthier and more conscious lifestyle. Lugano, a traditional crossroads of different cultures, seemed to me the right place to host a fair conceived to introduce the public to the world of well-being and to promote meetings between various operators in the sector from all over Europe.”

Lugano seemed to him the ideal place. A city that has always been a crossroads of different cultures, experiences, and sensibilities.
But Ti Sana was also born with another great objective: to create something truly useful for people.

“In Ti Sana there is also another aspect that greatly gratifies me,” Giuseppe Rossi explained, “The feeling of usefulness I get from connecting people with the operators of this great sector. From this way of understanding health, people derive real profit, and this is very important to me.”

A Fair That Grows With People

From the beginning, Ti Sana was not conceived merely as an exhibition event.
The goal was to create a useful, concrete, and human space.

“In Ti Sana, there is also another aspect that greatly gratifies me: the feeling of usefulness in connecting people with the operators of this great sector.”

Even today, this vision continues to guide the event.
Through conferences, meetings, experiences, and new ideas, Ti Sana has become over the years a cultural and human reference point for those seeking a more conscious way of living well-being, health, time, home, relationships, and the relationship with the environment.

But what makes Ti Sana recognizable, after 29 years, is above all its ability to continue creating real connections between people, ideas, and visions of the future.
Because Ti Sana was born by observing societal change.
And it continues to grow with it even today.
